I have a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology degree from Redeemer University, and a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology degree from Yorkville University. I am a member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. My life experience, work within social services, and educational background have provided me with a unique set of skills that I can now use in the service of those trying to navigate the storms of life.
In my sessions I blend skills from a variety of approaches, including cognitive behavioural, solution-focused, and person-centred. This blend is focused on assisting the client in developing strategies for coping, regulating emotion, relaxation, and improving quality of life. I use an empathetic, genuine, and non-judgmental approach that is focused on each client’s strengths and uniqueness. Click on the tab "Counselling Approaches” for further information about these approaches.
I aim to provide an environment where you can share your burdens and your story, without fear of judgement or criticism. My desire is to help you find healing and develop resiliency to prepare you for facing new challenges. There is hope for the future as you learn to develop deep roots that will allow you to flourish and experience the fullness of life.
